Industry Partner

10th Mountain Division

The 10th Mountain Division is a joint team of Soldiers, airmen, civilians, and partners trained to deploy rapidly and execute global land operations. Established by NSP Founder Minnie Dole during WWII, the National Ski Patrol helped screen applicants for this elite division, which served heroically in Italy. Many 10th Mountain Division veterans went on to establish U.S. ski areas and shape the sport's future, a legacy that led Congress to grant the NSP a federal charter in 1980.

The American Avalanche Association (A3) is dedicated to advancing professional standards in avalanche safety, education, and research across the US. A3 supports a wide range of avalanche professionals—including researchers, forecasters, search and rescue experts, and snow safety officers—by providing critical education, training, and resources.

Canadian Ski patrol

Canadian Ski Patrol

The Canadian Ski Patrol (CSP) has over 4,500 volunteers across Canada’s 56 zones and nine divisions, dedicated to public safety on the slopes. CSP patrollers complete a rigorous 60-hour advanced first-aid course, including CPR, AED, and WHMIS training, recognized by most provinces. Members re-certify annually with a 16-hour refresher course and exams, maintaining high standards of on-snow and accident management skills to support skier safety nationwide.

Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE)

The Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) is an accreditation body that reviews and accredits EMS continuing education courses. In partnership with educational providers, CAPCE recognizes and accredits on-line, live and Instructor Led Training Refresher courses. The National Ski Patrol is proud to be recognized as a CAPCE accredited organization providing continuing education credit hours, via our courses, to our emergency first responder membership.

Fédération Internationale des Patrouilles de Ski (FIPS) is the international organization representing ski patrol and associated ski safety organizations with membership from throughout the world. These organizations comprise ski patrollers, physicians, lawyers, engineers, technicians, ski equipment manufacturers, snow sport instructors, ski area managers, policemen and women, ambulance officers, and a raft of other volunteers and professionals, who are involved in the multi-disciplinary activities of ski patrolling.

Snow Angel Foundation

Co-founders Chauncy and Kelli Johnson have snowboarded and skied most of their lives. They brought this passion into their marriage and subsequently with their children. On Christmas Eve, 2010 a snowboarder riding at approximately 50 mph, collided with Kelli and daughter Elise (5 years old). The collision resulted in the death of Elise and the snowboarder. Kelli sustained life altering injuries, including a severe Traumatic Brain Injury that she lives with to this day. Chauncy continues to struggle with the aftermath of this event.
In 2016, he partnered with the National Ski Areas Association to promote ski collision awareness NSAA Collision Safety. This partnership resulted in the Ride Another Day safety campaign which the Johnson's have promoted nationwide. The Snow Angel Foundation was formed in 2023 in order to increase safety education and awareness while promoting the benefits of skiing and snowboarding.

The Cody St. John Foundation

The Cody St. John Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was established by friends and family to honor the inspirational life and legacy of Cody St. John. The Foundation supports professional ski patrollers nationwide by awarding annual scholarships for medical education and by promoting organ donation, the only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to advancing the work of professional ski patrollers.

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA)

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) founded in 2009, develops mountain-biking programs for student-athletes, and coaching education for team leaders. In partnership with NICA, the NSP is committed to providing safety in the outdoor recreational industry and to supporting awesome student-athletes and coaches around the country. The NSP is recognized as a medical training provider for NICA coaches with the NSP Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and Outdoor First Care (OFC).
